In addition during SC07 we will be initiating a very interesting experiment. Professor Philip M’Pherson will be conducting the first session of a rolling programme on “The Contributions of SE Practice to SE Value”. In this, he will invite the UK’s SE Constituency to assist in deriving the relative importance of different elements/aspects of SE practice to the overall value of SE. We believe this represents original work and will result in the creation of a new body of SE knowledge.

Changes to the Published Programme:

While INCOSE will make every effort to provide the programme as advertised, it may become necessary for reasons beyond our control to make changes to speakers and / or to the timing and content of the programme. INCOSE will not be liable for any costs incurred by delegates in relation to such changes. Any changes will be advised here.

Welcome to Spring Conference 2007!

Where is Systems Engineering going? What value is it adding to our communities and society – how is it helping to resolve the complex issues facing us today? As we all appreciate, our world is joining up and the problems we are being asked to solve reflect an increasingly technological environment where the societal issues are less well posed and  understood. Technology does not hold all the answers and it will be the way in which we as people, organisations and communities respond and react that will determine how well we cope with these changes and harness the solution opportunities.

This year our Spring Conference examines the role and future of Systems Engineering as a discipline to support society in this changing environment. How will Systems Engineering evolve to meet this challenge? Our speakers, tutorials and exhibitions bring a broad church of experience, domain and application together to address these issues, enabling an informed debate on the overall Systems Engineering Vision, its tools, methods and management techniques. This event also includes the first element of a new UK initiative to establish the value of Systems Engineering. Professor Philip M’Pherson will engage our conference delegates in identifying and assessing the key attributes of Systems Engineering. I look forward to welcoming you all to the Conference, to discussing the issues arising and to participating in what will be the premier 2007 UK Systems Engineering Conference.
